It’s only… Just Fur The Weekend

Sure, for some of us it’s just another convention in a busy yearly schedule, but for others it’s the alternative. It’s the one we can afford. It’s the one we can get the days off for. It’s the one that all of our friends will be at, because it’s not that far away and it’s just for a few days. Everyone can spare that, right? Maybe it’s not as long, but ask any mouse and they’ll tell you that size doesn’t matter. It’s how you use it.

Like Conventions?

Just Fur The Weekend is an exciting annual furry convention in Bristol, UK. We are about bringing the best social experience for our attendees, whilst also raising money for charity.

Our first convention in 2016 attracted 152 attendees, our second 317, our third 203 all from around the world. We look forward to their return in 2019, hopefully bringing some new friends along too.

Our Team

What can we say? We are nuts and our amazing team has proven that. Each and everyone of them contributes their spare time into making this convention happen. The wide variety of skills and talent we have amongst us is outstanding. Whether they have been with us from the beginning or have just joined, we remember everyone who has put effort in to our little weekend break.

The Fox and Goose

Way back in 2015, a  group of lads got together, had a few drinks and pondered starting a convention. As the evening went on the idea became a concept, the concept became a date, the date rolled onto the next day with several Google searches for venues.

A few months down the line they opened registration for the very first time. Believe it or not, people started to take interest. They put down deposits; some even expressed interest in joining the team.

The team grew, events came together, people spent their free time making sure JFTW was going to happen, often into the wee hours of the morning. As the convention weekend grew closer, we made sure there was time for a little social and food to further encourage the staff.

This casual community spirit was clearly seen during the convention. Attendees and staff alike got to know each other and had fun. Many didn’t want to leave, but all good things must come to an end.

To many peoples delight, year second happened in 2017, attracting double the amount as the year previous, our third during 2018. And now we are getting ready for a fourth!

Roll on 2019!
